About Jake

Born in St. Louis, Missouri. Jake's first game he loved was baseball - and rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals. At age 6, he was later introduced to video games with a Christmas gift of the Sega Genesis which was packaged with his first game Sonic Spinball. It was love at first button press.

While he still appreciated games in other forms (sports, board games, etc.), video games entranced Jake. Games that included a level editor was the first dip into the world of game development. This included titles such as: Starcraft, Warcraft III, Timesplitters, and Lords of Magic.

For much of his younger years he always envisioned a career in film, particularly in practical effects. But, in high school, a light switch flicked as he realized that someone has to make the games that he loves so much - he could be one of them! After diligent study at DePaul University's game program, he found a way to make that dream a reality with his first game release Octodad (2010).
